Traffic Cone - 20 mm ( Lübecker Hütchen, Pylon, Verkehrsleitkegel, Leitkegel, VLC player ;)
May29th: Many thanks for more than 500 Likes, 500+ Co...llects and 1500+ Downloads. Some Makes in various colors would be awesome ;)
I've made the original cone in 50 mm in 2 color earlier already and I like it a lot.
Thx to karol https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:623204 and CocoNut https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21773
Now I had the idea to shrink it and implement a magnet so it can support me on a whiteboard.
The 'cone family' shows the 5cm original sized with and without color change and a wood filament cone beside 2 of my 2cm magnetic cones.
3d model print parameters
Printer:
Anycubic Mega S
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
0,1 mm Layer
Infill:
25% - just walls anyway - no real infill
Filament brand: ...
any
Filament color:
orange and white
Filament material:
PLA
Notes:
Usually I do 0,2 mm Layer but as the cone is tiny and I wanted to make sure to have enough stability I did 0,1 mm - the printing time was still short ;)
Use dual Extruder or Single Extruder with automated or manually pause.
Color changes were made after the layer
3,9 mm
7,8 mm
11,7 mm
15,6 mm
Printed 4 cones in one go in 29 minutes with2g (0,8m) filament.
Extra time and extra filament need to be considered for color change.
Post-Printing
Implement the cylinder magnet
10mm by 1.7mm
or
10mm by 2mm
with a glue which does not deform the filament.
How I Designed This
I resized the cone to a bottom hole diameter of 10,5 mm (height 19,5 mm)
Then I subtracted a cylinder with diameter 10,5 and height of 1,5 mm at the bottom to fit in a cylinder magnet (10 mm by 1,7 mm).
The wall thickness remained about 0,8 mm and its height 19,5 mm (in case the magnet reaches out a bit at the bottom the total height is 20,0 mm). The lowest wall thickness (at top edge of the magnet cut out) is just 0,4 mm but the glue with the magnet makes it stable again.

Single Extruder:
I observed the print and paused manually as my printer does not like pre defined pauses (by slicer) for some reason. He just ignores them.
At color change make sure to feed enough filament especially when changing to white. Else you may start with an orange-ish white tone.
