3D Hilbert curves are... typically difficult to print with standard FDM printing due to the amount and location of supports needed.
This construction kit uses minimal supports and if you print enough of them, you could, theoretically, tile 3D space to infinity!
The primary “first iteration” element of the 3D Hilbert curve requires eight curved pieces and connectors. By mirroring, rotating, and connecting eight primary elements, you create a “second iteration” of the 3D Hilbert curve. Refer to pictures above found at https://slideplayer.com/slide/8230588/.
Join eight “second iterations” and you create a “third iteration” curve. Continue until you reach infinity.
Once you are done, you can replace the curved ends with straight end caps.
In order to hold shape over multiple iterations, the pieces are intentionally designed with a tight fit. If you find that they are too tight for your liking, simply file off a small amount from the snaps.
Curve pieces and end caps come with built-in supports. Print without supports or brim.
