My kids went to the St. Paul Minnesota Science Museum. There they made cardboard String Disk SPinning Toys. I decided to take it up a notch.
My two b...oys made cardboard string and disk spinning toys at our local Science Museum. Lets just say that my kids ability to evenly put holes in the disk was questionable, so they never really got up to speed. We worked together to come up with a design quick in solidworks, and printed a V2 for them to play with. Simply print out the included model, add some string, and let the learning about centrifugal and gyroscopic forces begin :)
I have provided the Solidworks Native File, as well as Step, X_T, STL, and Fusion360. Play with the design to customize it and make it your own.

3d model print parameters

Print out the models, string some nylon thread (or other string) through the center disk and two side hand protectors. Tie the ends together... and sp...in it up. The longer the thread the more spin you will be able to get, but note if it gets too long it might be able to hit the child's face when initially spinning it up. So take care based on the arm length of the child.
