A direct-drive printerhead that's suited for printing flexible materials alongside support.
This is my thesis project. After making testprints with t...he Ultimaker 2 extended+, I came to the conclusion that the feeder, the bowden set-up and the single nozzle configuration made the printer unfit for printing flexible materials like ninjaflex. Research showed this problem occured in several other printers. I tried to combine parts that should be able to print flexible materials in a compact way. Also, the hot-end for the support material is bowden-fed and vertically ajustable, this is done to keep the weight down and to avoid hot-end dragging. There is a lot of metal parts in the design, i added them to give everyone an opportunity to digitally view every single part of the design. The bondtech .stl-file was supplied by bondtech; http://www.bondtech.se/en/products/extruders/. The E3D hotends were taken from grabcad.
I have added a picture with links to the various parts manufacturers/resellers. For questions: RTE@ERIKS.nl
3d model print parameters
The printed parts should be printed in ABS. All printed parts should be printed with 100% infill to accomodate the heatset thread inserts....
