I created this because the existing Luxo Jr models were not of a high enough resolution to scale up. When printed at larger sizes they had issues with... the lamp bell not having enough facets to be be circular and also the design and tolerances not being tight enough to support the lamps weight. This design when printed at 1:1 scale has a base which almost completely fills a 200mm x 200mm print bed and the lamp should stand upright and be fairly rigid but adjustable. Please be aware the snap fittings are very very tight! This is deliberate as otherwise the lamp will be floppy. It's recommended that before attempting the large parts like the lamp bell and base you first print the box sections, rods and hinges to make sure you can physically assemble them. I found holding the parts with a cloth and inserting them using a forceful twisting motion worked best. If you are really struggling to get the parts to snap together open up the holes using a cutting tool or change the design. I have included the Autocad 123D Design files for all the parts (except the upper links as I didn't need to recreate those) specifically so you can adjust them for your printer. The parts are reasonably simple to print but very time consuming as they are large. You shouldn't need supports apart from the lamp bell. I recommend you print fragile items such as the rods with a high percentage infill to make them strong. To finish the lamp off nicely you can fit springs and wire in an LED through the dedicated holes in the base and lamp bell. The hole in the very rear of the bell back is large enough to fit a typical star mounted LED inside, on the model shown in the photos I have mounted a star on a heatsink and glued the heatsink to the back. If you do decide to add an LED you could end up with a fully functioning lamp suitable for any desk, mine runs off a USB port :)
