Minimal effector mount for a blower fan for excellent PLA cooling. Improve overhang and bridging performance!
I wanted to be able to use a blower fan... for more efficient cooling, so I designed this. I made two versions - one fits over the auto-level probe's feet, and the other can be mounted by itself (indep.). Being mounted between the arms, it does not affect the movement of the effector. I have already gotten some amazing results with this, my old pair of 120mm fans just do not compare to this little blower!
I printed with 0.2 mm layer height, 100% infill, supports and brim. Be sure to check the supports your slicer generates - Cura made some not so great supports depending on where the part was on the plate. I printed two at once to make sure the layers had enough time to cool.
(Note - my hotend is insulated with ceramic insulation, I would recommend insulating your hotend to prevent energy loss due to the blower, or use some sort of duct. I am working on a duct that does not impact the high airflow of the blower.)
