Really liked this design that I had seen on instructables* and wanted to create one that we could print. It takes a little bit of work but worth the e...ffort! Reworked the drawings to better suite 3D printing and created a top cover to hold all the components together.
Size: 4" Diameter
Each Component Thickness: 0.075"
Print all components and then drill the holes (to your liking) to make sure they are a perfect circle.
I am fortunate enough to have a lathe which I created my pins out of aluminum but of course you can use anything you would like to fit perfectly. I put a little bit of glue to hold the pins in place but be careful the glue does not run down the pins to seize the components.
Make sure that all surfaces are smooth so the components travel easy.
You may have to sand down the flaps to properly close the iris completely.
