These are printable box corners to turn scrap plywood or other thin board into simple storage boxes. Inspired by https://www.youmagine.com/designs/xyz...-connect.
I had some scrap 3 mm plywood taken out of grocery delivery boxes and I wanted to put it to use. I printed some pieces of https://www.youmagine.com/designs/xyz-connect, scaled down to fit 3 mm panels, but found it difficult to make bottom panels that stayed flush with the sides of the box. I also had no use for the screw holes.
These corners mimic XYZConnect but are thinner and designed with small boxes in mind.
3d model print parameters
4 top corners
- 4 bottom corners
- 4 side panels (3mm thick) of e.g. plywood
- 1 bottom panel (3mm thick) of e.g. masonite
The sides need to be ...3 mm thick. It should be possible to scale the model if you need to make larger boxes with thicker material.
The bottom panel should have the corners cut off to match the recess in the bottom corner pieces. The recess is 3 mm deep.
The box in the photos is about 220x160x100 mm.
Printed the pieces with 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 mm layer height, 0.8 wall/shell thickness, 50% infill using Ultimaker grey PLA on an Ultimaker 2 GO.
