A mixed geometric/organic, angled pen holder inspired by honeycombs.
It gives a little bit of an angle to the pens and pencils it holds, making it ea...sier to grab them when needed (I was always kind of annoyed that the pens I wanted to pick up from in front, where facing upwards!!!).
Also the perspective form of the sockets makes it easier to choose which pen you want to use.

) , which is truly a great featured design, also gives an angle to the pens but in different way. This was not insired or derived by his pen holder (as I actually designed this before I ever so so it) but i have to acknowledge the slight similarity.

I intend to upload a resized one in the near future...so you don't have to do it!
Also a split version is coming soon so that it can be printed in 2 colors (honeycomb slots - base)

3d model print parameters

This thing is a pretty big. It was designed to actually hold 2 pens in every honeycomb so if you print the file as it is you will get a pen holder wit...h height: 16cm, width: 24cm and depth: 170cm that can hold up to 24 pens/pencils. So unless anyone interested has a lot of pencils (and a lot of room on you desk) I would suggest you print this at about 65%-60% size, as i have done in the photos of the printed object. This will give you a more normal sized holder that can easily hold 12-15 pens/pencils. This was printed with: Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Material: PLA/PHA Filament: Colorfabb Intense Green Temp: First Layer-200C / Rest-195C Layer height: 0.2mm Speed: Variable - around 45-50mm/sec Shells: 3 Layers: Top/Bottom - 3 Infill: 20 (but you can always put some more in there for weight) Supports: No Time: aprox. 11hours It might need a little bit of sanding for the tips at the top, if you want a better finished look.
