The jackalope, jackalope or rabbit is a mythical animal in North American folklore (one of those known as "fearsome creatures")1 described as a hare w...ith antelope horns. The word "jackalope" is a portmanteau of "jackrabbit" and "antelope," although the hare is not a rabbit, and the pronghorn is not an antelope. Many taxidermy jackalope mounts, including the original, have been made from the antlers of deer.
